Except for basic software that is of use to almost every user, such as compilers, Research Computing does not buy licensed software.
Research groups can buy software and Research Computing will install and maintain the software and make sure that only members of the licensed group of users have access to the software. Examples are Gaussian and VASP.
Some software is made available on Research Computing systems through the Campus Software Licensing Services. Examples are SAS and Matlab.
Software that is restricted under ITAR/EAR must be handled in accordance with the policies outlined in Export Compliance.
