Spring 2016: Expanding HiPerGator
Working closely with Dell and Intel, Research Computing expanded HiPerGator by 30,000 processor cores and 1 petabyte of storage, bringing the cluster to a total of 51,000 cores and 3 petabytes of storage. As a result, HiPerGator currently stands as the third most powerful supercomputer among U.S. public universities.

Fall 2013: HiPerGator Arrives
Thanks to growing interest in the myriad research benefits of high-performance computing, and commitments from the Office of the VP for Research and Office of the VP and Chief Information Officer, the first iteration of the HiPerGator system was launched in Fall 2013.
