Operation during an emergency

INTRODUCTION AND MANDATE

The University of Florida administration advises all faculty to plan activities that enable continuance of research during campus closure.

The decision to close the campus will be made by the president or his designee. Depending on the nature of the emergency, the president may consult with various individuals on and off campus, including the Office of Facilities, Planning, and Construction, the Office of Environmental Health & Safety, the City of Gainesville and Alachua County law enforcement agencies. Public safety is the primary consideration in any closure decision.

OPERATIONS

In the event of campus closure, systems will be kept in production as much as possible. Current users may have access through normal means. Requests for setting up services for new users will be addressed as possible, though most activities will be suspended until campus resuming normal operations.

Incidents should be reported through the support system or email to support@rc.ufl.edu.

If UF classes are cancelled, all training sessions will be suspended. Many training sessions are available online and can be viewed at any time.

Please email support@rc.ufl.edu with any questions about these procedures.
